Check-In
Volunteers
Volunteers for all positions will check in with the volunteer coordinator and get a Sharks Card. Your Swimmer(s) will take that card to the Coaches in the Ready Area and use it to get their events. Siblings must come together. Swimmers will NOT get their events and will NOT swim if they do not have the card. This is to make sure that we have enough volunteers for the meet.
Swimmers
Once you arrive, you must check in with our Clerk. It'll be super simple, but you must do it! If you don't check in, you will be scratched from all of your events and will not swim.
Swim Meet Must-Haves!
Here are your Must-Haves for Swim Meets.
Swimmers should come in their suits to save time. Make sure to apply sunscreen BEFORE you arrive, the Sharpie will smear and wash away quickly if the sunscreen is not dry.
Goggles are a must!
- Towel
- Water (MUST BRING)
- Snacks
- Games
- Cap & Goggles
- Sunscreen
- Flip-Flops/Crocs (Protect your feet!)
- Chairs & Tent
- Trash bags! We deal with SO much trash at the end of a meet, clean up after yourself.
When setting up for Swim Meets, you can NOT set up your tent inside the pool area. There is not enough room for everyone.
What NOT to bring:

- Anything Glass. Nobody wants to step on Glass.
- Alcohol
- Valuables
- Anything Banned by the Pool
Meet Schedule
Parents!
Please make sure you and your swimmers are at the designated pool BEFORE warm-ups.
Home Meets
Equipment Set-Up & Take Down: Should arrive at 5:30 AM to help set up. Once the meet is over, you will take down, assist in moving our tents, etc. to storage.
Parents & Swimmers: Should be at the designated pool by 6:30 AM. Parents check in with our Volunteer Coordinator, and swimmers will check in with the Clerk.
Getting Your Event Numbers: Once Parents have checked in with the Volunteer Coordinator, swimmers will take their Sharks Card to the Coaches & Jr. Coaches in the Ready Area. Siblings MUST come together. Swimmers will give their Sharks Card to a Coach and get their Event Numbers written down. Swimmers will have more than 1 event, depending on their age and skill level, but no more than 5, unless we need to move Swimmers around if we have scratches.
Warm Ups: Once everyone has gotten their Event Numbers, warm-ups will start about 8:00 AM. Coaches & Jr. Coaches will run warm-up.
Timers Meeting: During Warm Ups, Timers will be called for our Timers Meeting. One of our officials, the president, or starter, will go over how to Time, what to do if you miss the starter, and any questions you may have.
Team Meeting: Before the meet officially starts, we will have our Team Meeting. Coaches will remind swimmers of what to do and what not to do while swimming. We will have our Team Chant (we will practice this beforehand), and the meet will start with the National Anthem!
During the Meet: Parents AND Swimmers must be diligent at listening for their Event Number being called. Ready Area Volunteers will call out a certain number of Events so we can keep the meet going. Swimmers above the age of 13 are responsible for being where they need to be. Coaches & Jr. Coaches will only look for the younger swimmers, but do not rely on them.
Ready Area: Ready Area Volunteers will have swimmers sit on their lane number and wait. It can get very loud with everyone talking, and the meet going on, so we ask swimmers to listen. Volunteers will help the younger swimmers get to the right lane, and as stated before, swimmers over 13 are responsible for being where they need to be.
End of Meet: Once the 200 Freestyle Relays have finished, we ask that EVERYONE help to clean up, whether you are picking up trash, helping to take down our tents, or moving chairs.
If you have any questions, you can email or talk to one of our Board Members or Coaches during practice.
